Quality Control Lead Department: Quality Control Experience: 4 - 7 Years Experience

PaperPlane is looking for a Quality Control Lead who can lead the Testing team to meet the overall test objectives & validate quality processes by establishing product specifications & quality attributes.

Responsibilities:

  • Test Planning:
    • Review product requirements, functional and design specifications to determine the Testing Scope & Effort
    • Estimate and establish the baseline along with the Project Manager for the time, resources and budget required to perform the testing
    • Develop the test plan for the tasks, dependencies and participants required to mitigate the risks to system quality and obtain stakeholder support for this plan
    • Establish Testing Requirements including Hardware, Software and Data requirements for the Test Setup
    • Organize the testing kick-off meeting
    • Define the Testing Strategy for each project
    • Ensure availability of accurate and comprehensive Test Data in the required formats before commencement of testing
    • Create a list of milestones and checkpoints and set measureable criteria to review the quality of deliverables in a regular and timely manner
    • Formulate plans for Regression Testing
  • Ensure Adherence to Quality Standards & Processes:
    • Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes for testing as per standards defined by the organization
    • Be the point of contact for the Testing team for all the escalations related to Testing and Quality assurance
    • Maintain Quality metrics and analyze performance across projects
    • Ensure content and structure of all Testing documents / artifacts is documented and maintained
    • Track and prepare the report of testing activities like testing results, test case coverage, required resources, monthly defects reports and performance baselines
    • Check / Review the Test Cases documents in a timely manner
    • Keep track of the new requirements / change in requirements of the Project
    • Escalate the issues about project requirements (Software, Hardware, Resources) to Project Manager
    • Attend the regular client calls and discuss the weekly status with the client/Project Manager. Document & Send Weekly Status Reports
    • Review various reports prepared by Test engineers
    • Track and ensure the timely delivery of different testing milestones
    • Establish templates and Checklists for Testing Best Practices, Guidelines and Bug Reporting
  • Team Management:
    • Build a testing team of professionals with appropriate skills, attitudes and motivation
    • Identify Training requirements. Work closely with individuals within each team in the context of overcoming weaknesses and creating greater efficiency
    • Assign tasks to all Testing Team members and ensure that all of them have sufficient work in the project
    • Conduct regular audits of Manual & Automated test cases and provide feedback to individuals
    • Be the interface/conduit between multi-functional teams to lead the delivery of projects
    • Effectively manage team workloads and team morale
  • Testing:
    • Hands on manual and automated testing of key web and mobile application projects within Paper Plane
    • Perform feature tests based on a thorough understanding of feature requirements and desired behavior with cross-browser compatibility testing
    • Perform Responsive Testing on physical devices such as mobiles and tablets (iPad)
    • Identify and report general website bugs and other functional/usability issues in web applications and internal software tools
    • Validate fixes and maintain clear and appropriate bug tracking documentation

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years work experience in Manual testing
  • Experience in using Automation Testing tools like Selenium (At least in 2 comprehensive project implementations)
  • Extensive Experience in testing Web Products and Business Applications (Desktop & Mobile interfaces)
  • Strong planning and leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of Functional, GUI, Performance and Regression testing in an AGILE environment
  • Ability to highlight and drive issues forward from identification through to resolution
  • Strong knowledge of QA procedures, principles, and tools
  • Strong verbal and written (technical) communication skills to explain bugs and other issues identified and produce bug reports, documentation and feedback to both product owners and software developers
  • Ability to work in an environment of perfection and compliance to web standards and high design quality benchmarks
  • Strong organizational and time management skills - know what you need to do, and DO IT!

  • Experience in the below areas will be a strong bonus:
    • Understanding of Unit Testing Tools like PHPUnit
    • Software Testing Certification
